12 hour slow roast lamb with potatoes, spiced chicken,  roasted cauliflower, tomatoes, broccoli with feta and cabbage salad.

Oh - and Lidl bao buns as a snack.
It's my Auntie's birthday today so yesterday she p It's my Auntie's birthday today so yesterday she popped round for dinner.

For starters, we had braised beetroot with bean puree, topped with a Wensleydale crisp, wild garlic oil and horseradish.

Think I need to work on presentation a bit more!

Brinner time! Lincolnshire sausages on wilted spi Brinner time!

Lincolnshire sausages on wilted spinach, egg muffins, chilli tomatoes on toast and mushrooms with kale pesto.
Cheesy buckwheat 'risotto' with with smoked macker Cheesy buckwheat 'risotto' with with smoked mackerel and red endive followed by pan roasted chicken on a bed of shredded sauteed sprouts, potato and beetroot pave, roasted carrots and kalettes. Bit more work needed on the potatoes needed.
Spiced vegetable soup with a chicken and coleslaw Spiced vegetable soup with a chicken and coleslaw sandwich served on a most excellent sourdough bread baked by Doncaster Brewery. 

We'd not planned to have this tonight but seemed rude not to on the warm, freshly baked bread.

Stuffing, pigs in blanket parcels, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, braised leeks, red cabbage, sprouts with chestnuts and bacon, stuffing, cauliflower and broccoli gratin

The best bit about Christmas Dinner is the leftove The best bit about Christmas Dinner is the leftovers - cooked and spare things that weren't used.

Pulled turkey leg in a sticky Chinese style sauce with Brussels sprout coleslaw (made with turkey gravy mayo) and salt & pepper roast potatoes and parsnips and corn on the cob. 

Was rather nice!

Pigs in blankets with a sticky Irn Bru and chilli glaze, halloumi with honey from bees just over the river, roasted leek dip, spiced rice with coronation shredded chicken, broad bean hummus, flat breads and mercimek köftesi. All finished off with Jemma's cheese cake pots, topped with local apple compot and more Sprotbrough honey. Washed down with (not pictured) Bowler & Brolly British wine.

16hr slow roast pork on mustard mash with garlic green beans andnl carrots 
Stewed apples and plums with a crunchy oat topping and drizzled with Sprotbrough honey.

The plums were a gift from Allison at church's neighbour, the apples were from a box outside someone's house round the corner from church and the honey from a few doors away too. Eat local!
